Loft is a term used to describe the thickness as it relates to mattress depth. A standard size futon cover has a loft of 6 inches and will cover a futon mattress of 5-8 inches in thickness. Loft sizes of less than 5 inches or more than 8 inches are available special order at an additional cost.
